Question about PBS on AMC 3

I'm having a heck of a time finding AMC 3 and the PBS stations. I get AMC 4 alright, but a strange thing is that I'm picking up Telstar 5 by using Telstar 6. Is that a clue? I'd apprciate anyones help as my wife loves the PBS stations. Thanks!

I don't even have that TP on my listings for AMC 3.

Go to Main Menu/Manual Scan. Hit the Green button to add a TP and enter the above information. Then hit enter and it will save and scan the TP.

Your on the wrong satellite and need to go further east with your dish. Go to lyngsat and look where the sats are in relationship to each other. Amc 4 is a long way away from Amc3. AMC3 is at 87W which is far to the east from AMC4 , IA-5 and IA-6

W. Tracy, I entered it manually. Thanks for the advice. I get a signal of 82 but the quality won't lock in, it fluctuates between 25-45. Perhaps I need to go up on the roof tomorrow and tweak the dish elevation.

If it varies that much then that is what the problem is-not quite locked on.

Right, it must not be locked on. I think I'm correctly placed on the arc as I get Telstar 5, Galaxy 10R, etc., very clearly. For some reason I'm just not able to hit AMC 3. I even tried tweaking each individual TP that I knew had stations. !sadroll

You sure there are no line of sight issues? Remember, the dish is aiming higher than it appears to be.
