Question about using reciever as SD and single tuner/dvr

I just went through a bunch of BS trying to sign up with Dish........w/o going into that the question came up......I am in a RV (fulltime) and wanted to get a HD DVR reciever. I intitally plan to use it as a SD reciever on my VuQube with a single channel DVR......later as funds come in I will upgrade to a HD reciever with two channel DVR when I upgrade my antenna and such. Funds do not allow that now but the current promotion will provide the uprgraded reciever.

The installer says this will cause a problem as the Dish reciever will not allow you to select single reciever as Direct does.

Is there a work around or am I screwed.........

Dual-tuner Dish receivers don't take kindly to having one tuner disconnected. The 512 will supposedly tolerate this, but it's an SD receiver. Recommend a 211 (single tuner) receiver with DVR upgrade.
