Just curious if anyone using a mini-bud is or has gotten much off of 83W? With my recent experience of incorrect focal length for the antenna, I was somewhat mini-budding with a 10 footer. 83W was one I was able to get during the mess and it got me to wondering.

Thanks.

Just depending on your area and setup. For me it's a no go, your milage may vary but for me nothing on 83w. 91,95,97,99,101,103,107,111,113,116,121,123,125w I have picked up.

with a 90cm dish and a Titanium C1W-PLL I have yet to pick up anything on 83W.
I have been able to get somewhat stable reception of Arts and The Word on 91W, and the ESPN radio mux on 105W, and pixelated Telesur on 113W, Rede Genesis on 40W, and Globo (encrypted) on 55.5W (even if it were not encrypted, not sure I would have had a watchable picture).
My old receiver limits me to DVB-S and Mpeg2 reception though.
Those satellites EIRP are at 40dBW or higher here in CT, but 83W is a bit lower at 39dBW
