I recently purchased a hdtv and D* insalled a new 3 lnb replacing my old 1 lnb dish and the H10 receiver. We've never had a DVR but think we would use a HD DVR. There is a 4 cable ribbon coax running from the dish to the tv but only one individual cable is hooked up on both ends (dish to H10). the other three are not connected to anything. D* installed a new double cable when they were here for 2 new rooms of Sd but that has nothing to do with our hdtv. To hook up a HR10-250 would I split the single cable coming in from the dish (inside the house behind the hdtv) or do I connect up another cable from the 4 cable ribbon coax to the back of the HR10-250? Or do I buy the HR10-250 from D* or a dealer and hope for a free connection setup by them? Hope I made sense out of what I 'm asking.

You would need a total of 2 cable runs from the dish to the HD DTivo.

I would highly recommend giving Robert a call at Value Electronics. He'll hook you up and can even set up an installer to come out. They only use certified installers.
