Question : Sc. Atlanta Explorer 4250 HDC

A friend just started up with BH in Hernando Cty (north of Tampa area). The tech put in the 4250 HDC box. He has HD but not interested in the DVR service. I am in Pasco County just south of him and thought BH used the SA 8300 HD boxes now. Silver in color and the one I have along with another friend. His is black in color and looks old. Which is the most current box? Is the 8300 box a better choice? Does it matter. Thanks.

Neither are our latest boxes. Currently the newest would be the Cisco 8642/8742 or Samsung units.
