As I said RS told me that this is THEIR policy for the boxes that there is no mandate to gather the info.


I just went elsewhere. But not everyone feels the same way. Which is fine. To be honest I think I was more upset about the calims that it was a govt requirement. But there ae biggere problems in life.

Anytime a store asks me fora phone number or name I deny them, if they dont let me buy the product so be it. The only thing I do agree to is when they ask for a zip code. I will supply it. But I will not give them my number, when asked I usually will say 555-555-5555 and the clerk 90% of the time gets it.

OTOH if you ordered online they'd have all that info from you for shipping purposes.
