Yesterday, I took down a dish I wanted from someone's house (with permission). I got some roof repair caulk and caulked over the holes left by the dish mounting hardware. About 2.5 hours later it started raining. And it has been raining off and on for about the past 12 hours. I guess this is my fault for not checking the weather first, but it was bright and sunny right up until the point that is started raining; I really didn't even think about rain coming so soon afterwards.

So, my question is...is 2.5 hours out in the sun long enough to make a seal, or did the rain mess up the caulking and should I go back and check it and re-caulk if needed? I didn't skimp on the caulk anywhere.

depends on how warm it was before it rained

If you blackjacked (yeah its a brand name but its all I use) the hell out of the holes then a couple hours should be OK if it was warm enough...now 2 hours at 50 degrees...maybe not ;)

It was proably between 85-90. I don't know what brand it was; it wast the only roof repair caulk that wal-mart had.

I tried to get it down in the holes and all over around each one; it even ended up on my jeans. Sounds like it should be good then. Thanks!
