A relative of mine has DTV and now uses a single 18" dish to get it. I was talking to him and he wishes he had his old P* dish. He talks about losing signal in heavy rain storms. I told him have have a small oval P* one he could have. The 30" I think.

My questions are if there are no trees blocking his view and the 18" dish is pointed right would this help? Also how hard is it to mod the P* dish? Sorry I forgot what his signal is now. From what I remember it was above 70 at least.

Thanks

ken,

i dont leave an install until i have most transponders on the 101 to at least 92. they go out between 45 and 50, the higher you have it , the more you have to work with until you get the fade. i would not recommend the primestar dish, it was notorious for catching snow.

try www. perfect-10.tv, they sell a 24" dish for 19.99 and a 30" for 27.99 (i have that one), they both accept the directv lnbs and use the standard size masts. make sure you apply a heavy dose of RAINEX before winter sets in.
