Mendenhall might have found a lawyer stupider than him. Though, only $1m, maybe they're trying to make it so low that they can get a settlement. Doesn't make any sense though unless he had an unusual contract.

Someone hires your image, you do something stupid to that image, you get fired. This will get dismissed.

Well, the Stools sure can't seem to stay out of the limelight this offseason, huh?

It will all be forgotten when they, the Steelers, win the division and your Clowns are in the cellar just like normal.

you follow the chiefs right? how do you think they'll do this season?

I think they'll play better and continue to improve but I am not expecting their record to necessarily reflect that improvement because of their 2nd half schedule:

  • Broncos
  • @ Patriots
  • Steelers
  • @ Bears
  • @ Jets
  • Packers
  • Raiders
  • @ Denver

3 division games (never a gimmie), both Super Bowl participants along with the Patriots and the Jets. Bears could be good, or could be bad, depends which Cutler shows up.

We could lose all of those games, we could win 5 of them, no idea.

Hard to judge the season though, the Chiefs along with the Bucs and Bengals are way under the salary floor that didn't exist last season during the uncapped year so they have to spend a lot in free agency/restructuring current players to hit that figure.

true.....aside from maybe the broncos thats a very tough schedule.

There is a lot wrong with the US court system. One step in reform is for judges to actually use Rule 11, which says in part:

By presenting to the court a pleading, written motion, or other paper — whether by signing, filing, submitting, or later advocating it — an attorney or unrepresented party certifies that to the best of the person's knowledge, information, and belief, formed after an inquiry reasonable under the circumstances:

(2) the claims, defenses, and other legal contentions are warranted by existing law or by a nonfrivolous argument for extending, modifying, or reversing existing law or for establishing new law;

If, after notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond, the court determines that Rule 11(b) has been violated, the court may impose an appropriate sanction on any attorney, law firm, or party that violated the rule or is responsible for the violation.

A sanction imposed under this rule must be limited to what suffices to deter repetition of the conduct or comparable conduct by others similarly situated.

Sadly this rule is used maybe 50 times in the whole country every year. It should be used 50000 times a day. Fine this lawyer "a sanction what suffices to deter repetition of the conduct". Say $50M.
