Is there a way to re-display at attachment without re-uploading it to the server here? You have a neat link in the control pabnel to see every attachemnt you've ever posted. Being able to re-use 'em (at this site) would be great.

I mean you can always link the URL like:

http://www.satelliteguys.us/attachment.php?attachmentid=5503

but I'd like to make the pics show up thumbnailed like they do when you originally upload them.

Thanks,

Not that I can see... You can put it inline like below...

*IMG* http://www.satelliteguys.us/attachment.php?attachmentid=5503 [ /IMG ]

But low-bandwidth users have to wait for it to load and is not good nettiquette.

You could make a thumbnail sized image of the original and LINK to it...

First image is actual size and the other is thumbnail I created 110x75

I'm trying to figure the code out, I've done it before to link with an image... But I can't seem to get it quite right...

arrrggghh!! I think I got it!!!

Now I just have to figure out a way to display the code...

It may be more hassle than its worth, but if you don't mind making a thumbnail or a placeholder jpg/gif you can reuse.

OK got it...

Have the url handy for the thumbnail you created and uploaded. You can copy it from managed attachments.

Click Insert Hyperlink
createlink.gif

In the TEXT script Prompt pop-up - Type
(No spaces)

Click OK

In the next script prompt URL box, copy the full size picture link into the box. http whatever....

You will probaby have to type this in by hand cuz the script pop-up won't allow you to unfocus to copy & paste the url like you could the first time

Click OK...

Then you end up with a clickable thumbnail that takes you to the bigger picture which you can re-use as many times as you want.

Like I said. It may be more trouble than its worth.

Hope this helped.

I think I found another way iff you add &thumb=1 you don't have to make copies of the original...

Code: (Ignore the PHP it was the only way to display the code for you)
PHP:

One final note.. You can use this code to display ANY attachment on SGUS, not just your own... Over and over and over... Just change both 5515 to whatver # you want or try random numbers... :D
