RE: [VOOM] Re: 4 new channels added today

swing both ways...but NOT ONE HD CHANNEL!!!.....2 disgusting nasty
channels....one redneck hillbilly singing channel and a wanna be

[VOOM] Re: 4 new channels added today

Eric, the point you just made I can't disagree with. ESPN2 is a waste.
The 4 channels we just got are prob. better. But i dislike all SD
channels IMHO. I realize many are saying that Voom needs to up there
SD channels to stay alive. There opinions are great. I disagree. I am
with voom primarily for the HD channels and would like more to be added.
And finally....thank god that yahoo allows you to voice your opinions
without being censored because you don't agree with the moderators
(unlike satelliteguys).

Certainly, all opinions are welcome here. I do think opinions should be
stated as such, that they are merely opinions. For a while we were getting
posts regarding VOOM's future that were based on conjecture and stated as
fact. That I disagree with. Unless you really have "facts" and a source to
back it up then you should post as your opinion. Then there is nothing
wrong with it being stated as fact to the best of your knowledge. There has
been so much confusion here because of VOOM's current situation that we
don't need to add to it here by misrepresenting ourselves as purveyors of
fact.
Now to my opinion, ESPN2 HD version would be well worthwhile to many VOOM
subscribers and it is one of the few HD channels currently available that we
do not get and probably could get with a bit of a push to VOOM management.
For those that have no interest in sports but have an interest in expanding
VOOM's HD offerings the channel would still have value. There are
occassionally movies, features, and of course sports on ESPN 2 HD. The live
events are usually very high quality video in 720P and it is missed on VOOM
by many.

I am for ANY HD channels to be added....whether ESPN2 or something
else....just about any HD would make Joshie a happy boy. I would even
enjoy some foreign HD channels from other countries if Voom could get
them. VOOM! VOOM! VOOM! VOOM! VOOM! VOOM! VOOM!

There simply aren't that many HD channels available in the marketplace right
now. Voom is only missing a couple at this time and ESPN2HD is somewhat
repetitive. As the digital TV transition takes hold we'll probably see more
and more roll out, but it's not like there will be a flood of these added in
the coming months.

Bob,
ESPN 2 HD is NOT repetitive. Clearly, you are not into sports or you would
understand that. There is nothing wrong with that but to reduce it to
"repetitive" for those of us who are into sports and want to watch a
specific game that is on ESPN2 HD but not ESPN HD the need for both channels
becomes obvious. If it were a movie channel broadcasting the same movie but
at a different time that might fall under the category of repetitive. Last
night the only way to see my team Syracuse play basketball on HD was by
having access to ESPN 2 HD. For that type of situation ESPN HD has great
value to me and many other VOOMers.
I am not sure what else VOOM is missing in HD that they can get right now.
Regards,
Bruc
