Like everyone else I've been waiting for a way to offload my HD.... Its always a jugle.. what do i not care to save, to record the next thing. Waiting for the external storage, or find another solution.
I have the DVDR, and the quality is pretty good. But i want HD. The pro quality input cards cost $1k plus. Its not worth that it to me.... i know this is all reruns.. But i think i may have a new angle.
Gefen has a Component, or VGA to HDMI transcoder, and Blackmagic has the HDMI injest Intensity board. anyone have any experience with the Gefen component? Or the Intensity board?
Using these 2 components would run in the $4-$500 range... so half the cost of the pro boards, not counting storage.
Using these and quite a bit of compression time, I could record and compress to VC1 and playback on the xbox 360.
