I have the Hopper Duo, which works fine for our needs. The other day, I started recording a show on the Acorn TV Mysteries streaming "bonus" channel. I started the recording about 5 minutes into the program. When we went to watch it, it had only recorded 15 minutes of the show. The Hopper Duo is connected to the internet by ethernet rather than wifi. We have extremely reliable 65Mbs internet.

My wife was watching a non-streaming channel on the TV in the other room via the wired Joey and was not recording anything. No other internet-connected device was in use at the time.

Was this an anomaly, or does this happen often with the "bonus" channels?

Thanks in advance.

I woould say its an anomaly... or the guide data for the show was wrong and the DVR thought it was over. I alot of those streaming channels do not have accurate guide data.
I've noticed many streaming channels live in their own timezone.
Their programming does not usually end and begin on the hour or the half hour but shortly or immediately after the last program ends.
They program like disk jockeys play pop tunes.
I often must record a string of them to see the beginning or the end on the previous recording or the next one.
Even those whose programming closely corresponds to the guide, may have a time shift of 3-4 minutes earlier or later.

Thats to keep you ON thier Channel ... this way you don't wander somewhere else and not come back.

i noticed the guide has been wonky as of late. whenever i pull the guide up it goes to the last channel viewed ans not the current one that i am on. if i exit out of the guide and go back into it then it pulls the current channel that i am on.

Why would you need to record streaming channels? On demand means you can view anytime
It depends on the channel as international channels for example which were on satellite 118 all moved to streaming so they still operate on schedules similar to non-streaming channels. They are not On-Demand by any standard and one has to either watch during the scheduled times or from the DVR which means recordings.

Streaming and On Demand are not the same thing.

Steaming is just as satellites/cable channel in streaming form
On Demand lets you watch thing you choose

As for OP
Guide info on alot streaming channels horrible, I seen some channels have guide that1 to 3 hours off compared to what actual showing. nvm the description being off or wrong.

I recently set up 2 movies to record on AMC thriller bonus channel and both recording failed to record, I was also for months trying to record "curtains" on 1 of 2 horror channels that was playing, and each recording of it was of "mortuary"
