Would one be able to use the current $25 gift card promo for starz, if one activates the 2for1 starz showtime special instead of activating starz by itself?

By what starz sent dtv no but my friend did and got a rebate so it really a crap shoot. Offical policy is it has to be full price starz and no other promotions like 2 for 1 or 5 off starz promos.

What if I upgraded to Premiere? Would that giftcard promo work?
