remote # 2 not responding on a vip722k system

I am using a VIP722k and my remote on the #2 tuner is very weak in response. I can hold a button and walk back to my receiver 20 ft away and return and it has responded. If I am in the br where it is located, I get no response or very little, Last week it was doing great. The antenna is in the same place it was previously. Is it possible for the remote to be bad? The specs on it are:21.0 IR/UHF pro 155679.
It's not really but about 9 months old. I have changed the batteries and also reset the receiver....Thanks

you need to relocate the UHF antenna for tv2 to the tv2 room. all you need is a pair of splitters. here is a link to a couple set of diagrams to help you out.
