I recently purchased a Hisense U8N and I am quite pleased except that none of the Hopper Remote codes seem to work well. They either send me to odd screens when I modify the volume or they do not consistently turn off the TV.

Has anyone successfully paired either the 54 or 40.0 remotes to this TV? If so would you share how you did it?

If it's a Roku Hisense, try TCL. Those worked well for the early ROKU TV's, especially the ONN Roku's

OK... my TV code is 5485, you can also try 3519.

One caveat: Hisense TVs will sometime require you to confirm power off by pressing OK. The Dish remote select will not do that. In that case you have to confirm with the Hisense remote to get the TV to power off. I have no idea why they do that. It does not happen all the time, and I have never been able to understand why it happens sometimes, but most of the time not. That same behavior happens with the Hisense remote.

It is not a Roku. It has a Google TV interface.

It is Google TV based.

When we first got our HiSense TV the Dish remote controlled it as we all wish, BUT, they improved it by adding a "time out" subroutine that triggered the HiSense "OFF" screen. I protested with a phone call and was told "it was always that way" NOT! Still searching for the perfect code, now trying 759 as suggested by A.I.

Can you clarify if your previous codes worked, except for the OFF screen that requires confirmation?
If that is the case, in my experience, that extra step to turn off seems random. It has happened occasionally since I got the set in early 2024.

None of the Dish Codes have been able to complete that confirmation of the OFF screen, because you cannot have a different function for the "Select" button on the Dish remote.
I have tried just about every known Hisenese code, and the behavior of the select button has not changed. If I remember correcty, I attempted using the AUX function to get around that, but I don't recall any success with that.

To clarify a bit, that extra step for OFF happens even when not using the Dish remote. You have to hit the select or OK button on the Hisense remote to complete the OFF command. No idea why they do that, or why it does not always happen.

I've been trying different codes for a while.
I think I have discovered the issue!
It's NOT random.
First - Set the TV to code 3519.
Make sure that LIMITED MODE is OFF in your remote settings.
If you do a quick power command,
(Do NOT hold the button down, just a quick press and release)
The TV turns off.

But, if by chance you hold the button down for a bit, the TV asks for confirmation of either power off, or restart, which you can only cursor over to that with the Hisense remote.

So..
If you get that screen after setting to 3519, then press the TV button on left side of the dish remote, and then hit SELECT on the Dish remote. The TV will shut off.
Once you have done that press SAT on the Dish remote to resume normal Dish receiver function, which will include VOL, MUTE and POWER for the TV.
The trick is NOT to hold the power button down, just a quick press seems to turn it off every time for me now.
Try that and let me know if that works for you.
