Remote Control Problem

This started happening last week. For the first 2-3 minutes it works fine. However, after that every time I press the SELECT button on the remote, it somehow selects the number 4 button. Also, the UP volume button doesn't work either.

As I said, if I leave it 'resting' for a about 3 hours, it works fine for the first 2-3 minutes then acts up. I changed the battery and still the same. Anything else I can do or just get another remote?

Sure sounds like the remote going bad on you.Has anything been spilled on it?You could take it apart and clean the pads and contacts and see if that cures it.If not then time for new one.

Does the "4" show up on the dish banner? Or does it show on the TV itself?

Most likely a new remote is needed

Try fresh batteries. Also, select other then the Sat and see if the Vol up button works. Also try the Select button.
