I just bought a Bose solo sound bar. I can control the volume and mute with my 54.0 remote but not the power function. Anyone have a remedy for this?

Does Bose turn itself off after 5 minutes of inactivity? If 'yes'. I say let it be.
I am on the same boat with an ancient (12 years?) Vizio soundbar (with 2 Bluetooth rear speakers) that I purchased with 75 inch Vizio tv.
I replaced the tv with a Samsung tv but kept the soundbar. With dish remote 54, I press volume plus or minus to turn the soundbar on. When I am done watching TV I turn the satellite and tv off. 5 minutes later, the Vizio bar shuts itself off.
My wife forgets it when I tell her to push aux button on side, then power button in order to turn the soundbar off (when I am not around.)
Check the Bose manual in case that feature needs to be turned on.

Yes that works, but then it would be just as easy to use both remotes. Anyway for my wife. :)
That's the only way it works unless the HDMI-CEC is setup for the TV to turn the soundbar on and off so when the remote turns the TV on, it turns the soundbar on
