I downloaded a couple of free apps to do remote desktop but was not satisfied with it. Can anyone recommends an app that will be able to do remote desktop to windows 2008 r2 server, Mac workstations, win 7, XP workstations as well.

Also, looking for an app that will let me do file management to remote servers.

Also, is there Ms office app for ipad

I use Splashtop for my remote desktop needs. Use it from my Macbook and my iPad to connect to my Windows 8 (used it when it was W7 also) machine at home.

On android, I use a product called Jump Desktop which has VNC (for Mac) and RDP for Windows. It's made by Phase 5 systems.

If it's on iOS hopefully it works as well as the Android version does.

I use both gotomypc and logmein.

The gotomypc is billed monthly, where as logmein is free but they charge like $30 for the iphone/ipadd app.

Logmein is better and easier to use and navigate.

I use iTap RDP on my ipad to talk to my office's Windows Server 2008 R2. It works well. I do not know if it will do Macs. Their web page http://itap-mobile.com/itap-rdp says it will do Win7.

I have also used it on my iPhone, but it is really hard to do anything useful on windows desktop with a phone sized screen.

If your company uses a terminal services gateway the only client that I found that works is iTap.

I use Splashtop2, it fills the I-pad screen and shrinks the PC monitor while being used, works very good.
