Remote short cut to turn CC on and off

Is there a short cut key stroke on remote control to switch the CC on and off?

I want to use this when I do a quick reverse trying to understand what is being said. My son has a Comcast cable DVR that has this feature and it is real handy when trying to understand some of the audio on some shows.

It would be nice if they would just hire actors that could speak plainly, instead of mumble.

I have a macro programmed in my MX-500 which is quite fast (no delays necessary). Any remote with macro support should be able to do it (it's about 12 keypresses).

I agree, a single toggle on/off key would be wonderful. In the mean time, you can get a programmable remote, or just learn the anal key sequence like me and type it very quickly!:

MENU, 8, 1, 1, left arrow, enter, right arrow, enter, view live
