Remote stops working with Joey .... reset to cure?

I have one hopper and one joey.
2 remotes on the Joey and both are paired to it and show in the setup screen.
Batteries are new in both remotes.

Every few days the remotes will not work with the Joey. They still work fine for the TV function.
Obviously they are correctly programmed since they worked an hour ago.

I press the setup button on the Joey and they show there, but do not work.

Only fix is to reset the Joey .. then they both work until next time.

Is the Joey the issue and how to fix this ... real PITA

Bad remote? Manually unpair and repair it

I have a Super Joey with the same issue. Been this way since I got it last year. Seems to happen a little less often since the latest SW update. I had a 922 that did the same thing many moons ago and it was finally fixed with an update. Guess you have to be patient or use a Harmony. That cured the problem for good for me.
