Remove BIG OLD satellite dish?

Hello --

My elderly father has a huge old satellite dish in his back yard. He no longer uses it. He's in upstate New York. Do you know anyone who will dismantle it and take it away?

I'd start with the outfit that installed the dish or a similar organization.

Another option would be to list it in a classified ad as "as is where is" for free and make the tidy removal (including the concrete base) a condition of the deal. Some people will stop at nothing if they can get something for "free" (almost all BUD users fall into this category).

If it's aluminum it should be an easy give away.

I removed a C-band Dish about 9 years ago. Got a electric saws all and cut it up into little pieces, took it to the scrap yard and got about $30.

If its aluminum, somone will haul it away for FREE!

You could also put it on Craig's List. There might be somebody out there that is willing to take it off of his hands.

Aluminum is cheaper than steel right now so hope and pray for steel.
