This is the response I received from E* ,after I sent an email Stating that since D* has added MSG-HD & FSNY-HD,if E* did not add these channels in a timely manner I would switch to D* ,even though I have n a 10+ yrs subscriber to E* ... xxxxxxxx
Thank you for your E-mail. We appreciate your feedback and your
continued service. We are planning to add more RSN's in HD in the
future. Unfortunately, we do not have specific dates or times that they
may be available. We do not have a list of probable additions to the
RSN's in HD but I can assure you we are aggressively pursuing adding
further stations.

I understand that this is not the response you are looking for, but this
is all of the information that we have available at this time. Thank you
for your patience. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,

Same as NESN

Looks like you got more or less the typical canned response albeit a little friendlier than usual (the last paragraph qualifying the answer a little more), that I get RE: NESN.

I realize that giving out too much info may hurt their bargaining position but would love to hear them answer not when but why the channels have not aired yet. Is it that they are holding out for a significantly better deal then what DirecTV pays or is it space limitations?

Next time tell them that unless they start sending you lots of free porn you will switch to DirecTV. Either that or threaten to send scientology after them. I am 99 percent sure you will get more or less the same response :D

I find their response amusing, especially after listening to the Charlie Chat tonight - they mention that sports and movies in HD are very important, then they make terrible excuses for NOT carrying them.

Why don't they just come out and say they don't have the bandwidth and that they will look to offer them after the new sat is launched - like by mid-2008. At least it would give a straight and honest answer, and set a realistic timeframe. I get a sense that honesty is what the customers are seeking.

It is beyond me why Dish as of now is the ONLY cable or satellite provider that will not release its plans for the future. People will say" charlie never does this" Charlie. Wake the hell up or you will see the 4th q. will be worse than the 3rd.q. and the 1st q. of 2008 will be worse than the last. All we want is a little communcation with your company on your plans!!!!

Why don't they just come out and say they don't have the bandwidth...
Who says they don't have the bandwidth ? Is that just your speculation ? No one outside of Dish's engineering group knows if that's the technical reason. Dish has (2) add'l HD channels currently up-linked.... That's hard to do if "they don't have bandwidth", is it not ?

What cable company announces plans ? Can you point to anything from Time Warner, Comcast, Cox, and so on ?

Do you live in a cave?? Read the news:D Comcast had just annouced that they will have over 100 hd by year end 2008. Charter has annouced over 100 for 2008. Cablevision will have 44 by the end of this year.

Well it just takes time just like it did for Direct TV to add more HD everyone falls under this category. We all want it now and it would be nice if you could just hit the switch and bam its on. But things dont always work that way. If folks want I real answer your going to half to call the corporate office and talk to the person that really knows.

Poke. I agree with you, but Charlie needs to let subs know what is going on. Like I said before. If he doen't it will get alot worse as far as people looking elsewhere.

This leads to another subject. Who is in charge at Dish and who makes these decisions?? Do they have only a small number of people that work at Dish to decide what hd to add or how to add it. Please someone give me the number, I would love to talk to them.:)

All I'll say is, action speaks louder than words. A company can put out an "announcement" but it means nothing. Sure, some people think they can hold them to it, but it's a wishful thought. I don't want a provider telling me they "plan" to do something. Just do it ! NO ONE knew anything about Dish adding Sci-Fi HD and USA HD until they were up-linked. One of these days they'll be turned on too.

This is the number I have called in the past give it a try.. :)

Actually, on websites like tvpredictions.com, hdtvmagazine.com, and engadget.net, they are consistently showing the channels that various cable companies HAVE ADDED, or will add by a specific date (I realize that is a shocking piece of info for us Dish Subs). Please see for yourself...don't just take our word for it.
