Dear Brian,

Thank you for your kind words regarding the addition of the Voom HD
Channels. Dish Network intends to expand our HD offerings in the future as
indicated in the response from our Programming Department.

We have a strategic plan that we are currently developing, but for obvious
reasons it cannot be publicly disclosed. With a successful purchase of the
Rainbow Satellite coupled with the launch of the Echo X Satellite this
summer, we plan to use the incremental bandwidth to support the launch of
numerous new HD channels. We hope to have something to announce sometime in
the near future. Rest assured...we are aggressively working this plan.

You are a valued customer and we want to be your TV service provider for
years to come.

Dear Mr. Ergen:

As a former Voom customer that retained my Dishnetwork I can't thank you
enough for picking up the Voom channels.

I immediately bought a 921, added a second dish and now I'm getting the dish
and voom hd packages.

Thanks again.

The key is to keep blitzing them with positive feedback with this decision. If we want them to keep improving their HD offerings, we can't let out a collective yawn when they make a bandwidth commitment like this to the still relatively small HD capable consumers......

Great note to Ergen. He's gotton alot of abuse on forums like this and its nice to show some support.

Charlie Dolan may have invented it, but its Charlie Ergen whose perfecting it!

Switching back to E* from D* on May 21!

Good email to Ergen, good email back, bad email to Ergen, maybe nothing back. If you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all (from their end) may be the motto.

Well said, it's like flipping the coin to see how they view the customer input.

Hey, I've gotten response from e-mails that were very negative, heck I've even got stuff taken care of that I couldn't after trying everywhere else.

However, we need to have a positive attitude with Dish now, they deserve our positive feed back after taking so much negative comments lately. Dish has taken a very large step in the right direction, and they need to know that they did good. Of course, some think they could have done this without charging them, or did more, however, I feel that I can't complain, because I'm glad that they did what many of us have been asking for a long time, which is add more HD!

Hey, we can't be abusive here.... If they DON'T try and placate us, we get angry. If they DO try something, and we still get angry, then we teach them not to bother dealing wth us as we can't be satisfied.

Voom? - Real Good. Way to go. Keep it up. The day you add more HD, you will get more money from me. Bravo.

The 921 stability? - Real bad. Stabilize the software. Get us DishHome. Name Based recording would be nice, but I don't trust Eldon to not screw things up further, so I'll be happy with a bug hunt for now, and I'll jump to the new Mpeg4 HD PVR when it finally comes out.

Any speculation as to what channels these would be? Just more Voom? Or perhaps some higher profile channels like UniversalHD?
