Samsung Impression problem

For some reason my Impression won't stay on the 3G network. To get it on the network, I have to go to airplane mode and back to normal. Then when I make a call it switched back to the Edge network. Anyone have a clue what might be going on?

Is your "Find wireless when available" button selected ?

I don't have the same phone (Samsung Epic) but it might be the same ....
I go to:
From the Main screen, I hit the Menu button, then Settings, then Wireless & Networks, then WiFi settings and theres a "Network Notification" tab from there.
