It really helps one undestand the shock that ran thru the sat industry in 2007 when the Chinese displayed their military skills by a direct strike of one of their old polar orbit weather satellites . It set loose all kinds of fragments that are traveling in that orbit. Scary what could happen in the geostationary orbit.
