LOL! :) I don't have stocks with Dish and I'm not related to anyone that works for Dish. Just try to be helpful and try to positive toward things is all. You can never please everyone I figure we already have enough people that complain about everything. :)
Keep it up, Poke. You're a counterweight for those people that do nothing but complain. :)

Please use the BW to increase PQ. If not, then more movies. That's what Dish is for!

You can get all the movies you want from Netflix. We can not rent live sporting events.

Greater Los Angeles area.
For a while it was all HD-Lite talk and I suggested we create a HD-Lite subforum, so most of us don't have to read all the incessant complaining about HD-Lite...

Lately (with some people) it's been blah blah I want my HD-RSN in nearly every post (regardless of subject)... I've said it before if you want sports switch to D*, if you want the best PQ switch to Verizon Fios (if you can get it) otherwise E* is a good balance between the two with a few better options...

I keep looking in these weekly uplink reports hoping to see the guide data come back for the digital sub channels. We had almost all of them, then they took them away.

Its hard to set a DVR recording or to know when anything is on my PBS HD, my Independent local, or MyNetwork TV.

Its so hard to have something and then have it taken away.

So, the Anik F3 and AMC16 satellites are FSS, but they are received using circular LNBs, is that correct ?
How does Dish accomplish this ? Do regular Dish LNBs (circular) work even though the signal is not DBS strength ? Do recent Dish receivers have extra signal amplification circuitry to deal with this, or do the "PLUS" dishes have an extra box to accomplish that ?
Just curious...

The Dish 500+ or Dish 1000+ will be requried, unless their is something new I am not aware of. The + dishes use a custom FSS LNB housed with a DBS LNB for 119. The custom FSS LNB has a dish pro compatible output. A seperate LNB is used for 110. All LNBs are connected to a SW34 switch. We use D500+ for international programming. I have not used a D1000+ so I am not sure what switch they use, maybe a SW44?

Please open own thread - we gone far offtopic.

Since when does that differ from EVERY Uplink Activity Report?

Don't understand why there isn't a closed, but updated when needed, weekly Uplink Activity Report, along with a link to a related 'discussion' thread.
Every weekly Uplink Activity Report gets bloated to umpteen pages long all because people have to ask the same questions over and over and over... where's the new HD(or just to b*tch about no new HD) and where's my locals?(or just b*tch about not having their locals yet). And 99% of the time it's the same answer... they'll be there when they're uplinked, they'll be available when they're available.

Yeah.. I get it, these 'people'(being extremely kind here), will zero in on the 1% of the time, that new info about HD or locals actually gets introduced in the Uplink Activity Report thread by one of these 'people' asking the same old questions. But that happens rarely.

In amongst the pages of repetitive same old questions/comments, new uplink activity gets posted, making it hard to track and keep up with.

Once upon a time there was an EPG available on every receiver and people referrred to that for program schedules. When it comes to HD RSNs that is the only accurate schedule of what will actually be presented, since not all HD programs on the HD RSNs are made available. One can also check their Blackout status while there.

The actual Uplink Activity posts have a very unique appearance, so they can be found amongst the COMMENTS ABOUT COMMENTS.
