I searched high and low for this answer, couldn't find what I was looking for. I want to know if I get the new 21.0 two way remote, will I be able to save the settings of my 622 to the remote and swap out my receiver for a new one (my current 622 is acting up). Also do the settings include all your channel locks, and all your timers?

2-way communication is only going to be possible on the "k" receivers, as the non-k receivers don't have an IR emitter to "talk" to the remote, just an IR receiver. No amount of software is going to change that.

FALSE !!!

Dude ? Are you OK ?!
Have you seen schematics of 622/722 or did you inspect components under front panel ?

If not, 2-way IR - ie two IR blasters and IR receiver are there.
Just look at front and you'll find them.

[The DVR still control VCR/DVD-R devices thru IR]

Also Dish mentioned those new remotes will WORKS with 622/722 [soon].
