saving a recording?

  • Server Issues.

    We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. As of 12:05 PM ET our provider has moved us to a new server.

    Things seem to be running better on this new server. However in trying to diagnose the issue (before finding out it was a hardware issue) we made some system changes which we need to undo. So if you find any issues or errors please let us know in the Operations Center Forum.

First let me say, thanks everyone this forum has been a great help. Thanks for your time!
Now say I'm watching live TV (Not recording it) and I end up wanting to save what I just watched. I know its been writing to the hard drive because I can go back and see it.
Can this be saved before I change channels?

Yeah just hit the record button and it will give you a screen with options for recording the current viewing show. I usually just select the options button and then "record entire event". But I have used the "create a timer" option too and it seems to work fine. I don't think you can do both "create a timer" and "record entire event" at the same time, ie pressing record again to choose another option. Seems like one or the other is unavailable after you have selected one of them.
