Scanner any good?

Got a old BC895XLT I dug up. Is this thing any good or just another doorstop?

Yeah it all depends on what system(s) are being used in your area. My area still uses the older straight FM radios so even real-old scanners with crystals in them work here for most stuff. They are starting to change though.

Thanks for the info guys. This thing is pretty quiet compared to what it once was. It does have the search function so I'll try that.

I have one also, it is great for conventional channels,
I dont use mine as I have a 396xlt. you can look at bc895xlt.c*m on the web for more info
