I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with Scientific Atlanta dishes? in particular, I'm looking for pics and/or info (weight etc) on a 4.5m 12 segment aluminium one they used to sell?

I couldn't find much in my old catalogs except gain of 43.6 dbi and that no one part weighs more than 140 lbs.

You might find www.andrew.com/search/docviewer.aspx?docid=5164 ...interesting. It's an install manual for a comparable Andrew 4.5 meter antenna. They talk about using a crane to mount the reflector to the backing structure.

A similiar 4.5 meter Patriot prime focus antenna has a weight spec of 964 lbs. I don't think this includes the mounting structure ( 3 point or pole az-el).
