Anyone know if these can be used for FTA? Scientific Atlanta PowerVu Commercial Satellite D9223
I was offered a pair of these, but didn't want to get them if I can't use them.

They're DVB,not S2,not HD,pretty much obsolete.May only get whatever channel they were originally set up for, don't know, and may need to be authorized, don't know.If they're FREE and you want to play with them for a few minutes fine, but an old Coolsat 5000 or Pansat 2700,etc,would be more useful and easier to work with.Just google d9223.

They can be used for DVB stuff that is in the clear but they can be a pain in the ass to set up. I had a couple of them maybe 5 years ago. If I remember right they only are set up for one mux (transponder).

I had some 9223's and a 9234 that I got for free.
