I recently got myself a new 32 inch TV and when connecting my new composite video cables the screen seems fuzzier than normal. All my connections are good but it seems odd. This has to be a pixelization issue it just gets fuzzy. my thinking is that it could be the size of the new screen. Any tips would be welcome on how to make it clearer. I use composite cables most of the time.

What make and model display?

What is the native resolution of the display?

What is the display setup of the DirecTV receiver to the display?

What channel #'s? AND are you talking about when they are HD showing HD? HD showing non-HD? or SD? content...

Just for giggles have you checked the difference in image by using the s-video versus using composite?

and... any specific channel(s) of reference?

once i tried s video and it was more fuzzier. some channels with the fuzziness include bloomberg,NASA, and several others.

are you able to connect via Cable in?

And by Fuzzy do you mean there is some static on the screen or just that the over-all picture quality is less?

What TV size did you have before? Tube/Flat/LCD etc

I would be willing to bet that you are just experiencing why so many switch to HD Receivers with LCD's and Plasma TV's , Believe it or not.. SD actually looks better on a Tube style TV than it does on a LCD. I upgraded the TV in my Bedroom with a 42" LCD with a SD receiver and it totally looks worse than the 27" tube TV I had in there before. Eventually I will get to adding another H21 to it.

Some things to check.. are you in Super Zoom, Auto Adjust, Zoom or Stretch mode on the TV's picture format? try it on Original Format with Wide and with 4:3 selected in the receiver. you may also just be over digitizing the image.

Element seems to be a low cost brand from Circuit City have you tried swapping out the TV as being possibly a bad TV?

A Google search for the Element FLX-3211B shows it to be a 720P native resolution (1366x768) 16:9 aspect ratio HDTV with an ATSC tuner built in. Have you tried connecting a TV antenna to it to check the quality of the display? The only review I found gave it adequate picture quality for a budget priced TV. Element also seems to be connected to the Polaroid brand of TVs.

I had another flat screen before but it was too small. I got this tv with my tax rebate. I had been dreaming of getting a new flat screen for months. the picture quality seems less but is still very clear. I have SD not HD.
