Hello,

I currently has a standard def DVR and am looking at the possibility of buying an HDTV with a built-in tuner. At this time, I am happy with my DVR and do not want to shell out all the cash for an HD DVR. Would the HD channels that I could get OTA appear on my Directv channel guide? Would I have to switch video inputs in order to watch OTA HD? Thanks for your help.

Hey mac.

No, your HD channels would not appear in your DirecTV channel guide. No DirecTV standard def receivers can get OTA HDTV guide data, period.
They would only appear in the TV's built in channel guide.

You would probably need to switch video inputs, or, at the very least, switch from AV1 to the OTA channel by changing channels.
