This spring I upgraded to LNB5 dish and HD DVR. Initially I received all HD channels. In late spring when the leaves returned I lost 72, 76, 79, 80, 82, 86, and 88. The Directv rep visited and diagnosed need to trim trees. I still get HD on local New York satellite feeds (2, 4, 5, 7). The 'searching for signal' message is on screen.

Last weekend, Discovery Theater HD (76) suddenly returned without trees being trimmed. Any ideas on why this might have happened?

May have moved to a different transponder (stronger beam coming in) or something, or maybe the leaves/branch blew in the wind enough to open it up.

Have you looked into moving the dish somewhat to get it fixed long term? This September the floodgates open on HD channels, and it would suck to only get half.
