My son just rented a room with a friend, who has the direct tv hd premier
package. Receiver is Hr with dvr. What would it cost to add a HD receiver
for my son, to the same package.

Heck, on the DirecTV web site just last week I ordered a HD box for my home office. They had it as FREE with FREE install. What I got was an H24 delivered by a great installer the very next day. All it added to my monthly fee was $5. You simply can't beat that value.
