Isn't this the first death associated with a Segway?

They had a recall on those. I hope he got his fixed. The glitch would make them backup I believe. I know they didn't sell like they thought they would. I never thought much of them myself.

The only way this could be more ironic is if it had been the inventor, instead of the guy who bought the company a year ago.

What a way to go? Could he not jump off of it?

Do you think he went over the cliff in a nice smooth arc, or did he tumble repeatedly head over heels?

What you don't think the segway stayed upright during the fall? :D

This makes no sense to me. It isn't like you are strapped in, why not jump?

These things are actually pretty fun to play with, but I have to shake my head when I see the cops at the local mall riding them. Talk about lazy!

I took a guided tour of golden gate park on a Segway a while back and it was a lot of fun.

I have ridden the off-road segway, he must have done something funky.

Segways are great fun, but way too overpriced to be practical for pretty much anyone.

We looked long and hard at them, but they're not quite enough to commute 3.5 miles in traffic, and we have very little other use for them, other than joyriding. Still, when we visit cities with Segway tours, they've got our money.
