I see shadows and actually see the same shadows on both sides but nothing that suggests actual flesh tearing. I've seen other people with tongues that looked jagged on each side like they had been using a chain saw to brush their teeth and as a matter of fact I work with a woman that has that as well and its creepy. Shammy boys tongue looks like a softer version of that.
