I have a New directv dish on my house would it work for shaw Canadian satellite or do I have to change the LNB and the dish.

Directv uses circular polarity
Shaw uses KU Linear and you just cant retrofit it on a different dish.

actually if your dish is a New Slimline dish it will work fine as long as you put a Shaw LNB on it. a 60E or 75E work perfectly fine on it. It is identical to the Shawdirect 75 cm dish, just made with metal instead of fiberglass and it has better fine tune adjustments.

The O.P. is in Alberta. Shaw will install a new dish at no charge if he is a new sub.

Shaw will install at no charge in Alberta but no in AZ

 

[Satellite Expert]

You need to sign up for the Home Away From Home program. You will receive a 75 cm dish to take with you. Try to get one with a non xKu LNBF if you can.
