Shipping vs Billing address

OK, I will be honest, my service address and billing address with Dish are not the same. I do this because I live just outside a major market and want to get the local channels in that market. Don't get me started on this subject because I 100% believe my area should be included as part of that market to begin with.

Anyways, here is my real question.....I want to order the Sling Adapter from Dish so I can get it free but anytime in the past I have ordered from Dish I have had to switch my service address to my real address so that my shipment would get sent to the correct place. Can I order the Sling Adapter from Dish but have it shipped to my Billing address?
 
Dish Network does not give the option to ship the sling adapter to any other address that the physical address on the account when choosing the rebate promotion.
 
OK, thanks for the reply Mary. Now I am debating it is worth the hassel to:

  • Call Dish and switch my service address and lose my desired local channels
  • Order the Sling from Dish knowing I have to pay for it and then get a rebate later
  • Switch my service address back to my desired market
Hummm...I think I might be easier to just pay the $100 to order the Sling Adapter from DishStore.net.

That may be, but I ordered a Sling Adapter two days ago and the rep asked me for a shipping address. (I told her, "Same as my Billing Address.")
 
Ordered thru live chat shipped to billing address as no one is home during the day. I once lost a reciever because no one was home.

When I ordered mine they insisted on shipping to the service address (out in the woods) and there was no way to change that according to the CSR I spoke to. (Thankfully UPS delivers there and they just left it at the door.)
 
I really hate to be the bearer of bad news! If the Sling Adapter is ordered as an accessory, you have the option to change the ship to address as with all our replacement and accessory equipment orders. The Sling Adapter promotion is an Auto-ship program and does not allow for a change to the shipping address. It defaults to the physical address on the account and cannot be changed. If you were able to change the ship to address the sling adapter, it was ordered as an accessory and the rebate option will not show on your account.
 
So switch the address. get it ordered to that address, then switch it back. That would only be a day or two. Cause once the order is processed then it will be shipped to there and with it being summer not that much on the locals anyway.
 
Looks like it's even easier. Once it's shiped you get a UPS tracking number. From the UPS site you can change where it's shipped to. Just select change delivery.

MaryB, I recently applied for the offer and requested an address change because the service address on my account was not properly entered by Dish into the system. It lacks street name and house number. The person who worked with me via chat told me that he had fixed the address to the correct one in my account and that there wouldn't be any problems with the delivery. When I checked the status of my shipments on dishnetwork.com I noticed that the adapter was shipped to the address that had the error. Now I am not sure if I am going to receive the adapter. Please help!

UPS will not allow you change the delivery address as the receiving party. If they do, that is an exception for sure. But what you can do, is contact them and ask for them to hold it for you to pick up. With a few exceptions, they will do that.
 
It ended up if you call and ask you should be able to get it new customer or not.
