signal increase in fringe area.......

Hi guys,
I have a simple (or at least hopefully simple) question about signal strength.

I am having a hard time picking up 119w on a 30" regular round dish (fringe area). The top signal i can get is low 50's. I have tried with another exact same sized 30" dish on top of the roof and obtain the exact same signal.

Would i experience a signal increase by switching to something like a channelmaster 26x35" elliptical.... or would that size of dish still deliver the same signal strength at a regular 30" round?

where are you located?

you might need something like a 1.2 meter or larger dish
