My system loses signal when it is sunny and hot outside. Could you supply any answers to this problem. When it gets dark and cools off outside I get a good picture.

Without more information, my first guess is you have an LNB going bad. Do you, by chance, have a SuperDish?

indeed i think you answered your question within your question. the lnb needs replacing

LNB or switch

I could be either the LNB or the switch heating up. A minor third possibility of cable problem splice that has moisture in it that when it heats up causes a problem.

To the OP... do you have OTA connected? Hot, humid, & clear weather can create a situation in the atmosphere called "ducting" and OTA signals will become... well lack for a better term... weird. Check the pip sorce & make sure that it's on a sat signal & not an OTA channel... this should help...

It's a software bug that's been around a while, if the pip is tuned to a weak OTA the unit will give a LOS box when the OTA is out, even if watching Sat or DVR...
