QUESTION: Who can tell me how DBM do u loose per lets say for every 50 ft of cable and for every diplexer and splitters coming from a pole mount with a 1000.4 ea , into the home .this would put me in the house with my BUDDY testing behind the reciever .I ues the supper sat duddy from applied instruments ,That is one
"GREAT" tool ,considering I started out with a channel master.it has it good points dont get me wrong im not slamming old dusty LOL .
P.S. This is one AWSOME web site.lots of great info.

You can lose anywhere from 1.5 to 7.0 dB for every 100' of cable depending on the channel & whether it's RG59 or RG6 cable. A 2-way splitter will cost you about 3.5 dB & you're gonna have to pony up another 4 dB's for a pair of diplexers.

It's true, but you shouldn't have to worry about splitters or RG-59 in your sat feed. With a high enough signal strength, resistance won't be a problem.
