I just installed a 722 receiver and a 1002 dish for hd. I used to have a 311 receiver and on the signal strength it said dish has modified the signal. The signal strength meter on the 311 was down around forty or whatever. My question is. I have the hd working with about 65% strength. The picture seems good. Is the 722 supposed to be up around 100% or does the modified settings effect this receiver too?

65 sounds good. Mine looks perfect at anything above 40%.

I have heard from 3 separate technicians that you have to add 30% to what your box says. If that's BS they're feeding me, I don't know.

50 seems about right to get it to 125. When my 311 was on the old meter it would read 125 (the highest) when the modified meter on the 322 or 722 would read about 75. I'd say add about 25 then to get it on a scale of 100.
