I need to install a Sirius antenna in a Mercedes and don't want to use the supplied trunk lid mounted antenna. I have read that Sirius supplies an inside antenna, but I can't find anyone who has one or knows about this. So -- if no one here can help with that quest, I have another question: can I use a typical external antenna inside the car, facing upward thru the front windshield? I don't know if this type of antenna needs a ground plane to work.
Also, do t hese antennas care wich side is up (viz. which side the signal comes from)?
