Is there any way I can get an installer (or anyone qualified really) to do a thorough site survey before requesting new service. Time Warner Cable is lacking in HD variety and I miss Dish so very much. :(

I have too many obstacles in the way if I had it placed in my patio like I tried last time when I did DishMove.

I see neighbors have theirs mounted on the roofs (assuming cinderblock weighted frame mounts.

How much would that run me if I did that as well?

You could always fly me out to your location and I'll bust out my Suunto Tandem Inclinometer. After that I'll give you the best installation you could ever imagine.

Seriously though, in your area elevation to the satellites are pretty high, I would think you would have many mounting options.

The mount you are referencing is called a non-pen(atrating).

just call around to a local retailer, you should be able to find someone to do a site survey. We do them when requested, just cause most of the time we end up getting that customers business when they are ready to be installed.
