I was wanting to know what you guys think of a Skyview Rx600 for the average person. I am wanting to find a cheap receiver for a few friends of mine that want foreign stations mostly stuff on 97W. However, I want to make sure that I can upload a channel list to it via serial cable like you do on Pansat, etc.... Since, I am setting it up for a few different communities, I want to be able to just upload a list so I don't have to do the same work over and over again.

Are there any major drawbacks to using a Skyview?

Thanks......

I guess I better ask how the Skyview is with using like an SG2100 motor.

And I just sent off for my first real FTA 90cm dish with motor. I can't wait to get it. Finally, all this research that I have been doing is going to pay off. Looked for an emoticon that is jumping up and down for joy, but couldn't find one. :D

I havent worked with a skyview but I think its basically a clone of another box. So it should work fine for a fixed dish :)

But if the person decides to do motorized Ku FTA later, maybe I should get something else like the Traxis? I love Pansat 2700A, but am wanting a cheaper alternative for friends.

Thanks....

I know PSB said the Traxis works really well with a motor and has a good blind scan in it.
