I am not a technician, but do set up my own direct tv satellite stuff from time to time. All my DVRs are 2 wire types. I picked up a SWM slimline dish and was looking for information on doing my own hookup. I am In over my head? I have only done HD 2 wire slimline setups using a signal meter and have not ventured into swm

If you have set up a regular ka/ku dish, then a swm shouldn't be any problem. It's a little different since you need a power inserter and a splitter if you have more than one receiver. Here is a link to some videos: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=aligning a directv swm dish&sm=3

Note, you need a SWM Splitter, not just any ordinary splitter.
