I recieved a smart card in the mail from Dishnetwork at about the same time my screen started telling me I needed a new smart card. My 311 has a built in smartcard chip. Whats the deal? Can't get a good answer from DN as to why my 311 now needs a removable smartcard.

They are changing the scrambling technology. The built in chip is not compatable with the new technology and thus the new smartcard.

looks like FTA hackers are finally shutdown 4 now! BEV have turned on Nagra-3 scheme at full blast last week! lets hope dishnetwork can catch up to its pace. hooray for Nagra3 and hoping this encryption will last 4 at least 3-5 years.
