Dishnetwork just sent me a smart card for my 722 HD DVR receiver.I installed it and everything is working fine,since my receiver didnt have a smart card in it before what is the purpose of one now.It says its for security,whose mine or dishnetworks.Just curious of what exactly the Smart Card does..

To clarify, your 722 had a smart card built into the circuit board already to receive the encrypted satellite signals.
That security was breached.
The new smart card is for Dish Network to reestablish a secure signal.
